Seeing Early Childhood Through Families’ Eyes

Save the Children

We spent time with Early Years professionals and families across Tower Hamlets to understand what life looks like for children growing up in a context of deep pressure and limited support.

Through roundtables, centre visits and week‑long diaries, parents shared the realities of raising young children - the joys, the gaps, and the moments where the system lets them down.

By listening closely to children’s needs, caregivers’ struggles and service providers’ frustrations, we uncovered the barriers holding families back.

We translated these stories into clear need‑spaces and a role for Save the Children at personal, organisational and systemic levels.

Impact:

Human insight that shows what families really need - helping Save the Children shape a future strategy rooted in play, dignity and meaningful support.
