Children & young people
We regularly conduct research with children as young as 4 (and have even talked to toddlers!). We bring a bespoke play-led approach to this research, with a focus on fun and gamification, alongside best-practice ethics and safeguarding. We pride ourselves on our ability to draw out insights from the youngest children to the most reserved teenagers, with whom we have worked on topics ranging from mental health to school exclusion and much more.
Some of our approaches when working with children and young people include:
Participatory panels and co-creation: we can convene panels of young people to act as ‘experts by experience’, helping to guide the research when developing programmes and interventions aimed at them – from shaping methodologies to joining us for analysis sessions.
Playtesting: creating fun and safe spaces for children of all ages to play with and feed back on new interventions, programs, tools and toys. We work flexibly with designers and experiential stimulus to inform innovation pipelines and strategic decision-making.
Friendship groups: we regularly speak to children, teens and young adults about complex issues, often bringing them together in pairs or groups of friends (or simply allowing them to bring a trusted adult) to encourage openness and comfort.
