Health & Disability
From understanding the lived experience of different conditions, to exploring the dynamics of health funding in the UK and globally, we are health sector experts. We bring an empathetic and sensitive approach to our research with patients - whether speaking to people with dementia and their carers about their support needs, disabled adults about the challenges they face accessing services, or to disabled young people about their lived experience of the education system.
Particular areas of expertise in this space include (but are not limited to!):
Health funding and commissioning: we work upstream with funders in the health space, as well as with national-level politicians, decision-makers and commissioners to understand their priorities and what that means for our clients. We bring sensitivity to political dynamics and contextual knowledge to these delicate conversations.
Public and patient involvement: we believe in our participants helping to design research about them and their health conditions wherever possible. This might involve acting as expert advisors on the research process, joining us for co-analysis, or feeding into final outputs.
Sensitive approaches: when speaking to people with health conditions, sensitivity is of the utmost importance. We have specific principles to guide our engagement with vulnerable groups, and will meet them ‘where they are’, whether that’s in-home, online, at support groups, or another safe space.
