We spoke to people from minority ethnic, lower‑income and disabled backgrounds to understand why so many face barriers entering — and staying in — the media research industry.
Through 20 in‑depth interviews, with a reflective pause halfway to adapt the guide, we heard how workplace cultures, lack of support and everyday exclusion shape their experiences.
Their stories revealed how much leadership attitudes influence whether people feel safe, seen and able to progress — or pushed out.
We distilled these insights into clear springboards and initiatives to help Netflix and the wider sector tackle churn and build more inclusive pathways.
